This Panasonic is better in most aspects except the speaker phone, which has a little bit too much echo that makes it sometimes hard to understand what the other side is saying, and has to go back to non-speaker phone. I have used Uniden 2.4GHz phone for years.
I wish they were stored in a central base station so you didn't have to enter them in each handset. In addition it is expandable if need be, and its a very nice classy looking phone. The only downside is the contacts are stored in the handset. Cell phone reception at my house is terrible. It is a duplication of effort and very annoying. This phone is great. So I signed up for Vonage and purchased this phone. I absolutely love it, works great and very easy to use.
Sometimes the phone will make an odd noise and disconnect.and I'm 5 feet from the base. Sometimes the phone won't ring at all. I can hear the other phone ringing. This phone has a number of failures. I'm sending it back.I ordered a vtech.they have their problems too ( all these phones seem to have some problems ) but at least the basic stuff works. I put the base exactly where I've had several other cordless phones over the years and many times this phone loses the base from a bedroom, backyard.20 feet away.two walls, sometimes just one, it gets no signal. Range was it biggest failure. When a call comes in the ringer will sometimes just keep ringing one continuous ring.
It was a great buy. We're using it with Vonage and could not be happier. Sounds great, looks awesome, and is light as a feather. The speaker phone option is great if you're in the middle of cooking/cleaning.
Only problem is it is bright when in dock and cannot (I don't think) turn off the screen. Completely cordless 2nd phone. Phone works perfectly. Simple with lots of features.
